Theories of Global Stratification

There are 3 primary theories to analyse the stratification and inequalities:
        >Modernization Theory
        >Dependency Theory
        >The Modern World-System

how are these theories are being applied to politics, economics and culture of respective state?

Modernization Theory

Modernization theory holds that this process involves increased availability and levels of formal schooling, and the development of mass media, both of which are thought to foster democratic political institutions. it is a theory used to explain the process of modernization that a nation goes through as it transitions from a traditional society to a modern one.

Dependency Theory

the people in every country began to question why they weren't developing? it's because of their country is not pursuing the correct economic policy or we can say that the government is corrupt. approach to understanding economic underdevelopment that emphasizes the putative constraints imposed by the global political and economic order.

The Modern World-System

Modern World-systems are defined by the existence of a division of labor. The modern world-system has a multi-state political structure (the interstate system) and therefore its division of labor is international division of labor.
we can call it a modern world system if the country is powerful, has a higher educational levels and sophisticated technology.
