UNIT 1 ACTIVITY 4

5 Different Perspective of Globalization

1. HARDWIRED GLOBALIZATION

Hardwired proposes that globalization originated from the basic motivation of human beings to seek a better life (Chanda, 2007). History shows that our ancestors travel from Africa to other places in search of food and security. hardwired globalization seeks a basic need of a country into another country to supply the basic needs of the country that would satisfy them.

2. CYCLES

it explains that there is no single point of origin in globalization but it is a long-term cyclical process where the current global age today is only modification of the global age on the past. cycle is a long term process. there is also a notion that this point of globalization will soon disappear and reappear. maybe in the future it will slow.

3. EPOCH

if cycles explain a continuous long-term cyclical process, the epochs explain that
there are waves of globalization that took place in the past and each of them has its own origin. Epoch is different from the perspective of the cycle as it argues that the previous epochs are not returning in the future. The difference of this view from cycles is that it does not treat epochs as returning. if the cycle will disappear and reappear, the epochs will not reappear.

4. EVENTS

the happenings that we can remember in the past. events explains the origin of globalization. we can remember it about how did the globalization start. the several point can be treated as a start of globalization. according to Gibbon(1998), argued that roman conquests centuries before Christ were its origin.

5. Broader, More Recent Changes

broader, more recent changes is like an inflation because there's a change of price because of not having enough products.it happens when the country is poor and over population and there is a hyper inflation and the people in the country don't have job it will brings a big problem of the economy. that's the time we can say broader, more recent changes.
