Unit 4 Assessment 1
Do civil society and NGOs strengthen or undermine the role of the governments in international relations? Why or why not?
It depends on the policy of the government in each other. In certain cases, they put pressure on governments to follow progressive policies, such as environmental protection, consumer rights, or animal cruelty reduction, while in others, they may do the exact opposite.Civil society and international non-governmental organizations bolstered the government's role by assisting with a variety of services that the government may not be able to provide or that are in need of improvement. They contribute to the government's vision and objective of serving society. They may exert pressure on the government to implement progressive policies in some situations, effectively acting as watchdogs. This encourages the government to carry out communal functions for the benefit of the people.
